hello, I want to ask your guys opinion on my upgrade plan.

So I currently have an i5-8400, gtx 1060 6gb and 16gb of ram. I thought of upgrading my 1060 to a 3070 because it started struggling running some of the demanding titles at 1440p on my new monitor, but I am concerned if it will get bottlenecked by the CPU and if yes by how much?

Graphic card and processor will work great together on 1080p resolution.

Intel Core i5-8400 (Clock speed at 100%) with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (Clock speed at 100%) x1 will produce only 9.17% of CPU bottleneck on 1080p resolution.

You are going to be slightly bottlenecked by the cpu. I dont know what the support is on your motherboard, but maybe you will be able to upgrade your cpu later

The point is that the 1060 doesn't struggle on 1080p Res, I want to upgrade because of it struggling on 1440p. It would be really great if you could tell me the bottleneck on 1440p

15% bottleneck, it will do just maybe 15/20 fps less on 1440p

The only problem with it is that when I bought my pc (self chosen parts, assembled) I thought an Intel CPU is better (for some reason) so I will have to get a motherboard upgrade too (tho it will be a good opportunity to get an x570 board
