Airflow Configuration?

Go to solution Solved by Cyracus,

Mount radiator to top so the pump is always well fed, I'd run it as exhaust, gpu load will increase cpu temps, but the gpu will have better fresh air supply with front intake pushing air toward underneath it.

Having the rad do intake would force the gpu to find its own air, I've tested that kind of setup before and it tends to result in gpu temps increasing more than the decrease in cpu temps.

Hey there,

I've bought a whole bunch of new parts for a new PC, and I was wondering what the ideal airflow configuration would be.

AIO: Kraken X73 RGB

Case: Phanteks Eclipse P500A Airflow D-RGB

Extra Fans: 1x Corsair LL 140mm (for the rear)

I'll be using an R7 5800x and a GTX 980 (which will be upgraded to an RTX 3080 when GPUs don't cost $3000AUD).

I will be using the fans installed in the case.

My current idea is have the front and rear (as the machine will be right up against a wall) fans as intakes, and the AIO fans as an exhaust, but I would love to hear what you guys think is the best configuration.

Cheers!
