Help! converting HDD Striped Dynamic to basic

Tiger
Go to solution Solved by ross06187,

you could use windows to make a image of the raid 0. then delete the raid 0 and restore that partition to disk 1. (taking up some of the unallocated space)

it might work, sort-off.  messing with raid/drive setups is generally a bad idea once there up and running.

Hi guys,

I got an old windows 7 64 bit laptop...

One day I convert 2 of my drives to dynamic formatted it to striped believing it's reversible.

I've been searching online for sometimes and nothing comes up...

From the screenshot below, I wanted to convert my dynamic striped (E:) to basic drive

I've made enough Unallocated space like shown in black below.

My goal is to not lose a file + programs installed on any drive,

Trying to reduce to just 1 disk.

One partition I'm leaving out is Backup (B:)

I've found the following

  • Programs that can convert dynamic to basic without deleting files...

I've not found

  • A program that will convert dynamic to basic that will also convert striped drives into basic drive...

The help I received will be appreciated

Thanks everyone

Can't find any software that does the job yet...

Most of them can do just converting mirrored dynamic back to basic

Any ideas???

Thanks again!

Thanks ross06187, I just copy everything over using teracopy,

seems there's nothing left over, deleted the partition then change letter of the new one

to E:

FIXED :)
