Budget (including currency): 500-600

Country: canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: the ascent, eventualy diablo 4

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I play on a 1080p 60hz monitor. I already got a case, 750w quality power supply. I curently own a amd 580 video card that I plan to keep for now beacause of the gpu prices. I have a old 2500k cpu. I'm looking to upgrade the mobo, cpu, ram combo. I'd like to go amd and wonder if it'll be worth it to upgrade with my budget? I'd like to upgrade the monitor to a 120 hz eventualy too.

Thanks a lot!

Current budget CPU king is the 11400f or 10400f if memory serves, that would certainly be an upgrade but it might be best to wait for alder lake launch in the next few months and upgrade then, that way you can either get a better deal on previous gen or get in on the new platform instead of dead end platforms

For now overclock your 2500k to around 4.5-4.6ghz minimum and pref 5ghz if you have a good enough board and cooler

Safe volt is 1.52v if i remember correctly but i suggest staying under 1.45v cause your cooler might not be able to handle the heat dissipation

This should improve your performance and make waiting for your upgrade to arrive not as painful
