Budget (including currency):  £400-500

Country: Scotland

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, Warzone is the current struggle, and streaming

Other details I3-9100f processor, ASRock H310CM-HDV board, Intergrator 400W power, GeForce GTX 1660 card, 2x ADATA 8GB premier DDR4 ram, 3x monitors, main monitor is 2560x1440

So I had this PC built for me and it is no longer good enough for what I want. Warzone mainly being the struggle, I believe it is the processor I need to upgrade but am not too clued up on this so hoping someone can be kind enough to let me know best processor to get and what else I will need to replace if the budget is enough

Thanks in advance

Well first of all get rid of that firehazard psu.

Then the next issue is the really low end crappy board that seems to struggle with a i7 9700 which is the absolute bare minimum you want so yeah. Bit of an issue here.

Best you can probably do is a decent b450 board like a msi mortar max or tomahawk max + ryzen 3600 and a new psu so the system doesn't blow up.

For psu I'd say on the cheapest since it's currently in promotion again a cx650 but there are of course better unit out there that would allow future gpu upgrades into the rtx 3070 and amd 6700xt series.

I would look into picking up an i7 9700, that would be the best use of the money.

Dont bother with the 9700K since you can’t OC on H310, just the regular 9700

ok thanks for the suggestions. I think I will get the i7 9700 and upgrade the PSU to the cx650 as that appears to be compatible on part picker. Really surprised at the reaction to the PSU as it was a custom build from Vibox so would have expected them not to throw in a firehazard, will bear that in mind in future and avoid them I think

Ok ran into a problem in size, my current board is Micro ATX so the suggestions above wont work as they seem to be ATX, wondering if anyone knows if

MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard  would be a good option to run with the ryzen 5 3600 after realising how bad the current board is
