I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this but at my house I am unable to get a good wired or satalite internet connection and I have an itx Mobo with all pcie slots filled and I was wondering if I would be able to replace my wifi card with a sim card or sim card slot

it's just the way it interacts with the computer it defaults to it using mobile hotspot and it doesn't work

That is the same story with a 4g modem card too. Are you trying to trick a phone unlimited sim plan to work on a desktop? This is where 4g modems are best as they tend to avoid this issue. As for wifi card replacement? Depends but yeah you should be able to again if it will work like you want is up in the air.

so I was trying to get it to recognize as a laptop as for some reason you can have unlimited laptop plans but not modem or hotspots

Yeah this is to prevent sharing but this can be tricked by certain modems by spoofing the IEMI tag. The laptop plans are very much so laptop********** plans. As in only in certain certified devices.

Not sure why, but these two never implemented home internet plans. T Mobile has a home internet plan thats like at least 50 Mbps and is "Unlimited" with a few caveats. But Verizon and AT&T have missed the boat on this. Most carriers will offer unlimited via the phone but as soon as you teather or do a hotspot they will limit you.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

yes but I cant get TMobile because as I said earlier I can't get anything else other than at&a and Verizon and any home internet plan is so bad that it is not worth paying for

Move. If you live in a Rural area you know your cant get service. Thats why I would never live in a rural area. Because outside 3 Mbps DSL, Shit Satellite internet or heavily limited LTE service you have no options.

ha it's not even 3mbps I get .5 Mbps and moving is not really practical as I can't even buy a laptop

Sadly there are no options. Its an issue with the US and how things are done. Outside of moving you can look at a hotspot plan but its going to be low data amount. My boss has one from Verizon and I think he gets 6 Gigs a month. Thats probably your only option truly. Because AT&T and Verizon refuse to offer fixed wireless service. The only other option is to see if a WISP exist in your area that can offer Fixed wireless service. But outside of that, thats the negative part of living in rural America. You get land an no internet. Where in the city you get Internet but hardly any land. You might be able to get Starlink but there is a high up front cost and its only in BETA.

yea I looked into starlink I am not able to get into the beta because of availability and location once it comes out of beta I should be able to get it but untill then that's all I have and I'm trying to make it work
