So i want to upgrade my cpu from an i3 2100 to a 3570k and i have a motherboard that ive been using its very much overkill for the i3 its a Z77 Mpower from MSI ( I won this at a local store that opened) because this motherboard has a multi bios switch can i just put a new 3570K in and switch it and it will boot up fine or do i have to update the bios which ive herd is a bit of a pain to do especially because i dont know much about bios setups and such

Hi ive just replaced the cpu switched the bios and now it wont boot i posted in the CPU MOBO thread  the issue is there something else i should have done

You should try a bios update by going into the bios to see if that solves it. If you can't access the bios with your new cpu, you should put your old cpu back and update to 7751vH1 if you don't have this yet because this bios supports the cpu: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z77-MPOWER.html#/?div=CPUSupport
