I am trying to understand something here i bought a 840 evo. I was talk to some guys the other day about ssd and they where all saying that the 840 evo comes with TLC flash. But where i bought the drive from they said it has MLC flash. After look at newegg and lots of other sites i saw that everyone there said it was TLC as well. So i email the store and told them what i had found. So they sent me an email say that they looked in to it and found this from samsung them self. http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/global/download/Samsung_SSD_840_EVO_Brochure_2.pdf. where on page 2 it says "Both drives feature the next generation of SSD evolution with Samsung’s new 3-bit MLC technology that provides fast performance and superb self-monitoring features to ensure reliability." and where they talk about both they mean mSATA

can anyone help me understand this

I think they came up with new technology...bcoz so far i have also seen that samsung used TLC nand till now may be they build a new MLC that gives more read and write cycles as well as higher speed... :)

Well, technically it is MLC == multi level cell.

But truth be told, MLC usually represents 2bits per cell, while TLC 3bits per cell.

But there is no doubt, that EVO uses TLC.

They didn't get it wrong. It's not called DLC dual level cell it's called MLC (Multi) so technically the 840 evo fits under the braket multi so it is MLC and TLC but not Dual Level Cell.
