No software needed, that enclosure will do the clone for you

Yea it copies from A to B, so if you put your source drive in B you lose all your data. Make sure to put source in A and destination in B.

Use AOMEI Partition Assistant,it's free and does the same thing instead of the printer looking thing.

to clarify, are you saying all enclosures do that or just this brand? or this mode?

can you be much much more full and complete in your responses because these short replies in other thread made everything very confusing

how do we know if using cloning abilties of enclosure is better than app/software?

theres many cloning  app/software, some of them are maybe better than other cloning  app/software

also what if enclosure is defective? wont that cause probelms or damage destinined/targeted enclosure?

shouldnt we test with some dummy drive first?

if it does the same thing then why not just use enclosure?

In software you can clearly set the source and the destination, and you can do a sector by sector copy.

doesnt software require other items and stuff i dont have??

Just connect the drives to the PC,there is nothing more to that.

why complicate things with an app for? i dont even know how to use this app

They should clone the say way, its pretty simple.

Are the drives both in good health? It can be more complex if the drives have bad sectors.

Pretty unlikely the enclosure has issues.

Just get the enclosure and use it.

DO you want a block level or file level copy? Id probably just copy over the files you need, and you can do that in windows explorer, no extra software needed.

if drive you're copying from (source drive) isn't perfect, then why would it be more complex? you didn't say why

i dont know what this means?, you didnt explain it

want to just clone the entire drive as said in the original post linked in op

so enclosure cannot do 'sector by sector copy'?

is 'sector by sector copy' what i want tho?

is that how you clone the whole entire drive?

Do you want this clone to be bootable?

Normally clone refers to copying sector by sector, otherwise you can just copy the files in a program like windows explorer.

there is no articles or comprehensive info on the web for cloning by enclosure

this must not be a very popular or common way to do cloning

or maybe it's a very old way

Seems pretty common, I have had many coworkers do it with systems at work.

os doesnt work, so it wont "boot' or start anyway

cloning entire drive so if that usually means "sector by sector" then i guess ok

enclosure doesnt seem common at all since everyone on the entire web says to use software so nobody knows about cloning except for i guess the people that work in one specific place in this entire world. nobody on this entire web knows about enclosures but you....

but since you said enclosure is the exactly the same as software/app except that apps can do more things like partition, then i guess for clone it wont matter since just cloning
