MSI afterburner reset to default is still overclocked

TwentyOneII

Hi, I bought a second hand graphics card and when I press the reset to default button in MSI Afterburner, the coreclock is still overclocked (overclocked past the "boost" clock speed on the graphics card's official specs). What could be causing this and if it was the previous owner, what could he have done to achieve this? This is an AMD card. Thanks.

Nvidia's software is called GPU boost, I don't know what the name for similar behavior is on AMD cards but either way, when there's excess cooling and power to spare the card will take advantage of it

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Hi, thanks for your quick reply. So MSI Afterburner just automatically overclocks my card past the official boost clock speed by default? I am just concerned that this card was used for mining and i don't know if this could be an indication of that. Thanks
