I never really understood what sort of limitations the number of PCI lanes have in a practical situation, so my question may come off as dumb, but here you go.

I have an Asus ROG Z-370E. I have an RTX 2080Ti and an Avermedia Livegamer 4K using two of the PCIe slots on the motherboard. I also have one m.2 SSD, one SATA SSD, and one SATA HDD. I'm coming short on storage and I wanted to buy two extra SATA SSDs.

My question is: will I run into problems by having this many storage devices running through the motherboard at the same time? The reason why I ask is that I never had this many storage devices before and I'm not sure if PCI lanes have anything to do with it.

I'm sure there are far more knowledgeable people here, so if any of you could help me I'd appreciate it.

Why not get another m.2 drive? There about the same cost and faster, so why not. Id also get one bigger hdd instead of 2 here.

You won't have a issue with adding extra drives.

Thanks Electronics Wizardy!

I wish I could go with another m.2, but there's a huge cost difference here in Brazil. I can get a 1TB SSD for about R$990 (around US$190), while an m.2 of the same size would run me about R$1920 (around US$370).

What specific drives are you looking at? Can you get drives like the 665p, p1 or simmilar?

Where are you getting the drives from? Is there a website? There are normally drives available for better prices than samsung.

I usually buy PC stuff from here www.mercadolivre.com.br or here www.kabum.com.br. This second one is out of m.2 Samsungs though. What other brands would you recommend that offer the same level of speeds and reliability? We do have other brands here but I'm not sure what to trust, so your recommendation might give me something to go off of.

How aboutsomething like this https://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-1831353266-disco-solido-interno-hp-ex950-5ms23aa-1tb-_JM#position=8&search_layout=stack&type=pad&tracking_id=d60f9af8-fc89-447a-83c1-6f2aaec493d1&is_advertising=true&ad_domain=VQCATCORE_LST&ad_position=8&ad_click_id=MDJmMDJiMjktZDhlOC00NmI2LTgzNzQtOTQxYWQ2MDNhYzZl

Pretty good quality, and high performance drive for not that much.

Had no idea HP drives were good. Thanks! I'll give that a look as it's within my budget. Just one more question: are there any issues with running 2 m.2 drives at the same time when it comes to sustained performance/temperatures?

You will be fine here. Temps won't be a issue. The drives share bandwidth over the chipset, but it won't be a issue here.
