B550/X570 lineup was utter garbage, and I think Buildzoid melted a few of them with a stock 3900X.

Z590 lineup is actually somewhat decent. ATX Valkyrie is top five for four dimm memory overclocking (Unify / Asus boards pull ahead) and CPU OC (Xtreme / Unify / Formula pull ahead). ITX Valkyrie has a pretty built VRM as well, but BIOS auto-settings hampered some things out of the box. Both of them are quite cheap, so go ahead as you please.

I'd also like to add it's not that great of an experience in the BIOS itself. Feels more like I'm back on some Bulldozer system.

Biostar has nick names like Bioflop or Biostop for a reason. All the way back to ddr platforms like socket A, Biostar has been one of the last choices an overclocker would make for purchase.

You can’t generalize an entire brand like that

Actually you can, and I just did.

Have killed several Biostop boards through the years with minimal abuse.

Very doubtful I was just unlucky while having owned several makes and models on many platforms, the Bioflop boards always died first.

Years ago, DFI, ABIT, Asus, MSI ect ect was considered before Biostar for purchase. Today, that hasnt changed except DFI and ABIT no longer exist.

Nor does it make him wrong.

I too ran into all this with Biostop.

It's also relevant (And fact) along the way Biostar boards were ALWAYS the very last of a model line from any maker to sell out as in the left-overs in stock no one else wanted.
It happened repeatedly when new sockets came out and the one ones were being phased out, all you'd see were Biostops well after all the rest were gone, hanging around in Newegg's inventory and TBH I"m not sure they sold them all when these listings were finally taken down for good.

Doesn't help I had a Biostop board that died within weeks of being new. Did an RMA and they did send one but even that board died within 6 months of me buying the original board.
Was using it as my daily so no abuse was being done to it - Just decided to "Stop" and that was it in both cases.
With that I can never recommend Biostop for anything.

Speaking of things being "All Inclusive", Hell itself is too.

Well I'm not really all that political, but I'm correct actually.

The mobo quality list hasn't changed in 2 decades.

So to accurately answer the question if a Biostar motherboard is "good or not", they are not "good" boards, even on their top tier.

The "why" question can range from using cheap chokes, less layers of PCB, soldering techniques and so forth. To really find out, that would be extensive research really.

Out of the last 20 profiles I've visited, MSI and Asus looked to be the most popular, a few Gigabyte boards there too, but I have yet to come across a user profile at this forum where a person is using a Biostar board.

Because of the lack in R&D, is why their boards fall behind in quality and longevity..

Kinda like AMD FX chips vs Intel. Intel has always had much higher R&D for research and development. That means they hire top engineers with tons of experience. That's why you see guys like Jim Keller go where the money is at.

Enough said on explanation from my experience and knowledge. For anything past this, some Google findings should demonstrate what Beerzerker and I are talking about.
