Over these few weeks my gpu is getting higher temps than normal. I got this gpu a few months back so don't think it's my thermal paste but it's normally sitting at 40 degrees but today right now it's at 47 degrees. Thoguh today's temperature is quite high 30 degrees outside is this why becuase when it was sitting at 40 degrees outside it was 18 degrees outside?

Dissecting what I can from your statement, yes, if the ambient temperature is higher, then your PC's idle temps will also be higher.

What temps do u get when gaming ?

Also what brand and model GPU is it ?

My ASUS STRIX 1660 SUPER stays at 45'C idle but i'm gonna switch cases to see if it makes a difference.

RX 580 8GB but when playing 72 degrees

yes, its summer pcs will run hotter, you can get better cooling to counter that, but there really is no point, i think everything up to 50c is considered fine while idling.

(and around 80c under load)

it really depends on ambient temps, and what you consider "idle", besides case and cooling.

this is mine (3070) right now, room temp is 22.8c (quite hot for my tastes its usually around 20.0c) and as u can see i have OBS running so i dont consider this "idle" as it uses like 3% gpu *minimum*

Oh no 2 fans on the gpu and 3 intake and 1 rear sorry 😂

You mean your GPU has 2 stock fans right ?

So your PC case has 4 fans : 3 intake + 1 rear exhaust correct ?

If the above info is correct then your temps are good, nothing to worry about. 🙂

Also how old is your GPU ?

And have u ever replaced the GPU thermal paste ?

Yes all correct! I'm not so old so I worry about these things however the reason I haven't re-applied the thermal paste is because it's a couple months old
