Budget (including currency): 1000€ ish

Country: Netherlands

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Latest FPS titles, MMOs

Other details : My current setup is i7 6700k, CM h212 cooler (push/pull), Asus maximus VIII Hero, 2x8 2400 mhz vengeance LPX, MSI Gaming x GTX 1080, EVGA 750W G2. This is all fitted in a CM storm trooper case.

I'm running a two monitor setup with my main monitor being Asus ROG 2560x1440p 144hz for gaming.

Currently my parts are still working fine with a smaller OC of the 6700k, but I'm starting to notice longer loading times and not being able to push the frames as high as I would like them to be.

I have been looking around parts for a few days and think I have landed on a few key points that I would like to incorporate in the machine.

The parts I'm going to replace for now is the CPU/MB/RAM/Cooler. I'm going to keep waiting to later be able to get me an RTX 3080 (if they ever become available at a fair price).

So the parts that I'm fairly certain that I would like to get is:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X

MB: Asus x570-E strix

RAM: 32 GB 2x16 3200/3600 mhz (help?)

Cooler: Air or AIO?

Not sure about what RAM and what speed I should go for.

And I'm also not sure of I should take the leap and try AIO for the first time, or stick to a beefy air cooler.

I have been reading some discussions between the 5800x and the 11700k, but AMD seems more tempting to me at the moment.

Would love some thoughts on this, Is AMD the right choice? What brand/speed should I look for regarding RAM? Is AIO worth it or should I stick to what I know with an Air cooler?

For the time being overclock the shit out of your cpu (dont go over 1.5v or 90c) so your current pc will be bearable while you wait for the new one

Mb is overkill, go for b550f gaming if you are gonna overclock, go for b550a pro if you arent gonna overclock

You dont need 32gb ram just for gaming, if you are using ram hungry programs then maybe but not for gaming only

Go for a shadow rock 3 if you are not overclocking, go for dark rock pro 4/nhd15 or liquid freezer 280/360

Liquid freezer 280 can beat the d15 and the 360 will prob beat both
