You can technically buy any ram of the same timings and speed BUT often if it isn't the identical ram in the laptop a laptop will put it at the lowest speed which is 2133mhz. Depending on what cpu you have this can be a noticable impact on performance or it will just be a tiny one.

I found a ram identical to the one in my laptop, will it work in it's best config?
