No. Not because of the laptop with the broken screen, but because of trying to use the display of another laptop. Your broken laptop should output fine to an external monitor, but no device can output into a laptop, since laptops don't support foreign inputs for their displays.

if the screens are the same formfactor and port then you may just be able to swap the monitor, or if the cpu and ram are compatible and socketed then you might get away with swapping those. 

 

You might also be able to take the good display and turn it into an external monitor to use with the other laptop
