No Display Output Regardless of GPU

YoungBlade

I loaned my dad my old Lenovo K450. The other day, he was having trouble getting it to display anything on his monitor. He had to reseat the VGA connector before it would work again. Over the next few days, it got worse and worse, until no amount of reseating would fix it.

Specs: Intel i5 4440 - 4x4GB DDR3-1333 - Nvidia GT 635

Here's what I've tried:

  1. Replaced the VGA cable - no difference
  2. Tried another monitor - no difference
  3. Tried a different graphics card (Quadro 600) - no difference
  4. Tried the Intel iGPU - it worked once, but after a reboot it failed, too
  5. Reseated the RAM - no difference
  6. Used just one or two RAM sticks - machine boot looped endlessly with any configuration besides 4 sticks

Any ideas?
