low gpu usage

My gpu (rtx 3070) is not running at 100% performance mostly around 60%.

I know for sure, i do not have overheating issue, so where's the problem ?

What game are you playing? Settings etc? What CPU did you combine your GPU with? What resolution and refresh rate do you run?

ryzen 5 5600x, overwatch, ultra settings at full hd and 240hz monitor

 

sometimes it can run pu to 90%, then i got around 300 fps

Could be the CPU isn't fast enough to keep the GPU fed with enough data to run close to 100% performance. Have a look at individual CPU core usage while gaming. If one or more cores are running close to 100% that's possibly the issue.

You could try running at a higher resolution. The lower the resolution, the higher the frame rate, the more work the CPU has to do while the GPU is less taxed. Is your RAM running in dual channel mode?

All of my cores sits under 70% and yes, i'm running dual channel at 3600mhz

Overwatch is capped to 300 frames per second,.... so GPU usage will drop when you hit that limit,. which is expected when framecapping.

but most professionals play at higher framerates using a simple trick to unlock the framerate.

To do the same, open the game and go to Options -> Video settings and set them to the following:

• Display mode – Fullscreen
• Resolution – Your native resolution + refresh rate; if you have a 1080p 240 Hz monitor you’ll want it set to 1920 x 1080 (240)
• VSync – Off
• Limit FPS – Custom
• Frame Rate Cap – 300

Make sure you’ve got everything correct and then click ‘apply’.

Then you’ll need to exit Overwatch and go to Documents\Overwatch\Settings and open Settings_v0.ini. Search for [Render.13] and change FrameRateCap=”300″ to FrameRateCap=”400″ and then save the file. Launch Overwatch and you should be breaking through that 300 FPS barrier. Important here is that you don’t go into settings after you’ve done this or the game will switch back to 300 FPS.

Not all games are equal, or show how to optimise for your hardware and you have to do it yourself (with some googling to find out specifics per game)

I have cap at 400 FPS, and performance drop usually appears after 30 minutes of gameplay, but it's not overheating issue, that's why i'm confused
