Upgrade the psu?

Yeah that first

https://linustechtips.com/topic/1116640-psucultists-psu-tier-list/

Get a b tier or better unit first.

Budget (including currency): $400

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Apex, Val, COD, Variety

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):  So I just built my first comp. I have my eye on a Maxsun GT 1030 2gb, but I'm sure if I should make the move. In search of some recommendations for a GPU that's compatible with my build for the best gaming quality that my specs can handle. Thanks.

My build:

CPU: Ryzen 3 3200g 4 core

Mobo: Gigabyte b450m dseh v2

Memory: 16gb ddr4 Ram (2x 8gb)

Psu: 550w 80+ bronze

Storage: nvme m.2 256gb & sata ssd 432gb

I wouldnt recommend that. If you have 400, (while its scalped) you can get a RX580, which for 400 isn't worth it, but way better than that 1030. Anyhow, have you tried finding cheap used RX 560/460/470 or 1050Tis? Should be around 100 or so. You can also try grabbing a new 3060 anytime if you follow any restock discords.

What 550w psu? What is the model?

A gt 1030 isn't really that much better and really won't let you play the games you have here that much better. How much is it?

Also keep in mind that due to the 3200g being a pure 4core/4thread cpu cod and apex will still run with stutters and everything as the cpu just has too little threads

edit: corrected 3400g to 3200g

Thanks. Yes, I came across a used msi radeon rx 580 4gb gddr5 for 350. It's just a gamble with used parts, as far as previous owner up-keep goes

it's a Aresgame psu. The 1030 is $152. Thanks for that info. I figured a decent gpu would make up for a lower core/thread cpu. Didn't know it mattered as much

Ok so firehazard psu got it.

Honestly the best course of action might be non firehazard psu and the a 5600g.

Google shows this is possible with any psu but I do plan on upgrading as I upgrade other parts

Yeah it's possible. But your psu is as good as putting scissors into a wallsocket :p. I can not safely recommend any upgrade here.

So this one fits in my budget:

I purchased a Zotac 1660 Super since my post. Is 650W good for that, along with my other specs?
