Hello there,

this is my first time here, so I hope i made everything right. Searched this topic, but couldn't find an answer.

My problem: While gaming (I assume under load), I can play a while until the PC crashes. Both my Monitors are getting blackscreens and the light on my keyboard and mouse turn off. The PC itself (Fans, LEDs) are still running and I have to hold the power button until it dies so I can then reboot it. I can use the System with no problem in normal Desktop usage. Even lighter games (Sims 4) are working now.

Some imporant/interesting facts:

- my AIO Pump died 2/3 Weeks ago -> System crashed 3 times (rebooted 'cause I didn't know what happened) until I realized those were heat crashes -> Left PC off 'till I got my AIO repaired.

- I played GTA with a ton of mods (I say this, 'cause I had this exact problem a few years ago with a different setup) -> A replaced PSU did it back then, unfortunately not this time

- the first crash with the repaired AIO was a frozen picture with stuck sound -> after a hard shutdown I had the blackscreens with no sound nor error message whatsoever

- I tried underclocking my CPU, set down my GPU Power Limit and disabled the XMP Profile -> Sims lasted longer but crashed nonetheless

- after some days I could play it again - no crashes even with hours running (don't know why tho) -> still works now

- there is no strange sound when the crash decides to show up although the CPU LED on my Mainboard is lit up when it happened

- My Power Button is nonstop glowing in a color that indicates Storage Drive traffic after crash

I - for myself - hope it forgave my missing knowlegde, but I think my CPU had no mercy with me this time. I contacted AMD Support for Warranty already. I am in 1,5 years of the (I think) 2 years warranty, although they told me they can't replace it if something "burned" 'cause of my heat crashes.

My system:

  • AMD Ryzen R7 3700X stock
  • GPU: PNY GTX 1080 XLR8 OC
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3200
  • Mainboard: MSI X570-A Pro
  • PSU: Corsair RM650x (2021)

I upgraded to a RX 6800 XT and a Corsair RM1000x (2021), so basically it has to be something related to the CPU / Mainboard, right?

Thanks in Advance!
