Keep getting BSOD caused by ntoskm.exe - tried memtest86 to check RAM and it came back with no Errors - Not sure what else to do :(

Go to solution Solved by BradL1234,

*UPDATE SINCE UPDATING BIOS JULY 1ST*

Since updating my bios, I haven't had one BSOD. So I'm certain the problem has been fixed.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Been having weird BSOD errors for quite a while now. The only time my PC wouldn't blue screen is when I was playing games (Usually does it when browsing or just leaving PC idle whilst watching/streaming videos). As of late I found a program what identifies BSOD errors (Bluescreen Viewer) and it came up with a ntoskm.exe error - After googling how to fix it, most websites mentioned it could be a memory problem. I decided to run a Windows Diagnostic and it came back clean. So last night, I ran the memtest86 program (With both sticks of Ram left in their slots). I left it running for the default 4 tests it does and it give me one big green Pass result with 0 errors.

I have no clue what else to try other than factory resetting windows (was told on websites it can fix the problem) but I really don't want to do that.

Any help would be great :)

Are you running your CPU overclocked at all?

Do you have an XMP Profile on your Memory? What speed is your memory running at?

Sorry I probably edited my post. Refresh plz. Build Specs Below.

What are some of the bsod codes?

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Nope no overclocking, no XMP profile to my knowledge, and task manager says the speed is at 2133 MHz. Settings should be all default and my RAM is 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro @3200Mhz

I would go to your mother board manufacturer site and try updating BIOS and drivers from there first off

That was another option the websites suggested. But I have personally never updated my BIOS myself so I didn't really want to mess with it. I may end up giving it a try though.

That's not what I meant.
When you bsod, you should get a stopcode like memory_page_in_unpaged_area or iqrl_not_less_or_eaqul, that's whats going to be the most helpful

Its not hard with how easy modern mother boards make it. Typically you download a file, put the file on a flash drive, boot to BIOS and open the file. Its just super important to remember when updating BIOS not to Power off you PC. So do it when the power won't go out! lol

My bad man. One of the last ones I remember it saying was something like CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT

*that was taken in a screenshot from April but whether or not the most recent stop codes are the same, I'm not 100% sure*

That looks like a CPU clock issue, I'd try to turn off any CPU overcloxks if you have any.

Don't have to my knowledge. Everything should be standard default settings. But like I said above, that screenshot was from April so the most recent Stop codes may not be the same. I'll have a look at some of my settings though and see what they are at.

Just updated my BIOS from a 2019 version to 2020. There was 2021 version but it was still in Beta so I went with the safer option. As for my drivers, I have checked and they all seem up to date. I will run my PC as normal and see if the BIOS update fixed my problem.

Indeed. If nothing works. Factory reset it is. Or retry memtest again but with one RAM stick at a time.

Lul i fix this trouble!

Go to -

 image.png.d9b327338f3cb7f7000583216b7ff8ac.png

Keep enable "Файл подкачки"(not know how on english..) only on ur system ssd like that, and turn off on diferent!

After restarting ur PC this issue will be done.

And try include old ssd's from ur PC cuz using it, can repeate this bsod.
