Budget (including currency): $$

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Valorant, Tarkov, any game tbh

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

This is my new build that I have made, I already have most of my parts including the GPU. Can someone explain to me what the warnings that I get on pcparttpicker mean and how they can be fixed. and also rate my build and let me know if there is anything that could be improved

The first warning means that the motherboard might need to be updated because you are using a newer CPU, and you can't update the board without a supported CPU(If it needs to be updated at all, some work out of the box it depends), if you need to update the board though AMD offers a free program where they send you a CPU so you can update then you send it back.

The second warning probably won't mean very much to you, when you use the second SSD 2 of the 6 SATA Ports are disabled, these are typically used to connect Hard drives and slower SATA based SSDs but you don't have any of those in this list, and there are still 4 available ports for future Hard drive upgrades if you so choose.

And the last warning is saying that some things might not fit like the CPU cooler with the ram, but you should fine because you are using a liquid cooler anyway, and I don't personally see any other clearance issues that you might likely run into.

The only thing that is probably overkill for this build is the second 2tb NVME SSD, I would probably recommend just the 2tb one and maybe a HDD if you really want extra space, the 500gb drive is super unnecessary IMO. Other than that it looks pretty good, congrats on being able to get a graphics card.

Valorant and tarkov are both PvP shooters  and like high fps a lot. Like a whole lot.  Tarkov has a rep for hating AMD in general. It’s single thread and wants sky high throughput from intel processors. There are other weirdnesses too that I’m not very familiar with.  Might want to aim at tarkov but do it with a high thread chip so you can play other things too if you also want to play stuff with other requirements.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

The ram is bad value and for gaming, 32gb is absolutely not needed

I find aios uneccesary but ok i guess if you have the money for one ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯

I def would have yeeted the asthetic and uneccesary parts (case, ram, aio) and used them to upgrade the gpu or cpu

Otherwise decent build

It’s not gaming though it’s digital art.  I don’t know if the memory is is high or low.  It will depend on the size of the pieces he works on. The more ram the bigger the piece he can deal with easily.  The trick is while the software will work on stuff where the image is too big to fit in memory things slow down a whole lot.  I’ve worked on stuff long ago where there was enough swap that stuff took literally multiple hours to do single actions.  It’s just better if whatever is being worked on fits on the ram.  It’s just lots easier and faster to deal with.  Also there will be a whole bunch of ssd writes that can wear the drives really quickly.  All commercial illustration eventually becomes digital because it’s either for computer or for print and presses use digital stuff to make plates.  I was a print guy so perhaps there’s some assumption of print here but one nice thing about working digital is the whole analog to digital step is just skipped.  Can cut a week out of the process. Also when you work analog you constantly have to think about how the piece will look after it’s converted. With digital you actually get to look at what the thing will actually look like.  A lot less mental gymnastics.

derp.  Well this was a mispost.  Theres another guy building a machine for digital illustration.  It was supposed to go there.

Is op just gaming or also doing digital art?

You might have replied to me in the wrong thread

As my friend here Pigeon said, the warnings it shows are possible issues but shouldn't be for you. He is right about the motherboard may needing a bios update, and that may be a bit of a pain involved in building the system. But as he pointed out, AMD has made it pretty easy to do that, it just will require an extra step but otherwise it is a great choice. Now addressing the other comments, in my humble opinion they are simply wrong.

The 5800x is more than fine for any games and shouldn't be a concern for Tarkov or anything else.

Aios are completely fine and will offer more than enough cooling for your hardware while looking cool.

32gb of ram is not overkill nor is it bad for the system in any way. Most modern games can use more than 16gb so it is nice to have extra.

If you want RGB, etc. Do not listen to anyone saying that is a bad choice or makes no sense. It is YOUR PC and YOUR money. The computer is an investment and if you want it to sit on your desk looking good, then you have every right to do so and I encourage it. The PC should be something you're proud of showing off as you will likely keep it for a while and do many great things with it.

In conclusion, good luck with the build and if you need any help, let us know!

No I screwed up.  It’s a different guy building for digital art. Got posts confused 😕
