need help setting up schiit stack

hey i recently picked up the modi and magni stack.

im currently using the dt990 250ohm how do i set it up properly on windows

On the connection to the PC side, you plug it in via USB, that's in. No driver install necessary, it just uses the a built in Windows audio driver.

hey thanks do i need to change format quality or just leave it at default

Leave it to default. Maybe 24 bit 48khz. Or 44khz

Great thanks and I’m assuming I only need just the modi plugged into the wall and that the magni can be bus powered right

Opposite. The Modi gets power over USB however the Magni is an amplifier. Of the two it's the one that comes with a big heavy power brick and needs to be plugged into the wall.

Okay thanks and bus powered is enough for that it wouldn’t make a difference if I plug it into the wall and then to pc via optical ?

That could work too, yeah. It just needs a basic 5v USB power so even an old phone charger will work.
