Do LCD monitors lose brightness over time

Smackaroy

As the title says do LCD monitors lose brightness over time, I'd so how quickly.

I'm just worried that my new monitor has gotten dimmer, it's probably just my imagination and me being paranoid about my things but I want to double check.

New monitor?  How old is it?

It's quite rare for a modern LCD. Older ones that use CFL backlights will degrade over time, but LCD backlights are not susceptible to the same thing,

I was about to post the exact same thing.
Cold cathode tube lighting will go more dim overtime, but most likely the voltage multiplier dies before that.

Newer LCD's use led's, which have a real long burn out time. (some even over 50 000 hours which is 2 083+ days).

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

I have an old TV that uses a cold cathode tube, and it's degraded over time to the point where it has a visibly reddish pink tint.

Yes, both CCFL backlights and LED backlights degrade in brightness over time. However, the process takes quite a long time for LEDs.

So Im probably being paranoid got it thanks
