Hi all,

I have a Ryzen 3600 using auto over clock.

Trident Z Neo cl18 3600mhz.

Asus prime b550m-k latest bios.

Gigabyte 3070 OC Gaming latest driver and bios.

Windows 10 latest update.

I did have 3200mhz cl16 ram but it wasn’t compatible with my CPU, upgraded to this new ram and the stutters are much less frequent but still present. I have played with timings and got it down to cl16 - Does better in benchmarks but stutter still there.

It’s pretty smooth in games but stutters at times, for example opening inventory will stutter for a split second.

suggestions?

Stuttering how and doing what? You say games but don't really elaborate what games and at what settings. Generally speaking if you are cpu limited stuttering isn't all that surprising. I guess my suggestion would be to limit the framerate to try and lessen the fps fluctuations. Also some games have settings that hit cpu performance hard that can turn down as well to help alleviate the issue.

It occurs at any time when using PC. But is mostly noticeable when gaming.

Open world games are the worst, but linear smaller world games seem fine. Borderlands 3 is one that will stutter when it has to load nearly anything. Chivalry 2 can lag with high player/large size servers. Battlefield V runs fine unless directx 12 is on, will stutter on busy high player servers.

I have tried limiting frame rates but it doesn’t prevent the stutter.

It seems to be lagging when something new needs to be loaded, a new animation, sound or texture. Once it’s loaded it won’t lag again the next time it needs to be loaded

Are you running off of a harddrive? Also what is your ram usage looking like? It sorta sounds like you are having issues with pagefiling but that usually only happens when you run out of ram or things simply aren't allocated to ram like they should be. Having things on a fast ssd helps pagefiling be less jarring though as when you do have to load things that aren't from ram then it can still go to the relatively fast ssd. That being said usually stuttering in windows happens when you pagefile from an harddrive or at least that is one situation where it happens.

It could be that the Infinity Fabric and Memory Controller clocks are not lining up, may be worth posting what ZenTimings reports

The tCL 18 is the DOCP profile my mobo recommended. The tCL 16 is an OC I made.

tCL 16 has much less latency and faster write speeds. I’ve since managed to lower it to 16-19-19-39

I don't know much about some of these but googling around at what others think tRDWR should be yours seems pretty high.
