Help. I just bought a laptop today and now I can't login because of defaultuser0. I went to buy it and checked to see if it powerd on and it got to the setup window. After that I powered it off and went home. Now when I power it on it say user deactivated and the only user is deafultuser0. I can't even reset it because the reset pc button is missing in the troubleshooting menu. How can I fix this?

Well then honestly get to where ever you bought the laptop and tell them about the issue, it looks like a corrupt installation.

Download Windows 10 from here : https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 even has a link to create a bootable USB drive.

Your key should be stored in the bios.

To add, if the Windows 10 setup to enter a product key, pick "I don't have one", and setup will resume Don't worry, it will find the key in your system. This option is there, in the case you are installing a different edition of Windows 10, which one might have acquired later, for example.

Thank you for the replies I will try this later.

Defaultuser0 is an artifact of setting up a system with sysprep.

Sounds like the original install was corrupt like others have said. Reinstalling windows will fix the problem. You might need to install all the drivers that don't come through with windows updates.

You can reference the manufacturers website.
