Ofc the formula is the best (have to say that since i own it :D)

But the differences are not that big. There are some features you get when going up the ROG line, such as better overclocking hardware/software etc. The maximus Vi gene is also M-ATX while the rest you have listed are ATX. The only reason i chose the Formula over the Hero, was because of looks. The armor was too sexy ;)

Well, the Gene is an mATX board and the others are ATX. There's a lot of differences, but I'm not going to list them, it would take forever.

The Formula is the best out of those, but they're overpriced in my opinion. There's motherboards that are just as good for much less.

Why is the Formula the best

because:

1-reviews

2-qality of rog products

3-expensive stuff are always the best most of the time

4-rog line up have a badass reputation

Real programmers don't document, if it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand.
I've learned that something constructive comes from every defeat.

No offense to you OP, but you're asking questions that can be solved by a 20 second google search. Sure, ask the forum if you want product suggestions, but deciding to rely entirely on us for basic technical information isn't what we're here for. Taking a visit to the ASUS ROG website would've answered your question quite easily.
