Is there something wrong my setup?

Darkofdead

Hello,

Can somebody help me with my problem?

I have:

  • GPU: Inno3D Rtx 3070 ti x3 OC

  • CPU: I7 8700k OC 4.9GHZ (1.33V)

  • Motherboard: MSI Z370 gaming m5

  • RAM: 2 duel link channel 2x4GB 3000MHZ and 1x8 GB 3000MHZ

  • PSU: Corsair 750W (Gold)

  • SSD: Samsung 970 evo plus 512GB

I don't know if my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU or sideways, but I have seen that is not the case and still getting low fps on overall games like:

Here is my 3Dmark test: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-8700K Processor,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Z370 GAMING M5 (MS-7B58) (3dmark.com)

  • CPU: I7 8700k OC 4.9GHZ (1.33V)

  • Motherboard: MSI Z370 gaming m5

  • RAM: 2 duel link channel 2x8GB 3000MHZ

  • PSU: Corsair 750W (Gold)

  • SSD: Samsung 970 evo plus 512GB

I don't know if my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU or sideways, but I have seen that is not the case and still getting low fps on overall games like:

  • COD: Warzone: Getting sometimes 100-120fps (cpu times 6 GPU times 4) ( everything low + 1080p)

  • shadow of the tomb raider: (Shown though screenshots)

  • Cyberpunk 2077: RTX off still not higher then 60 fps with 1080p or 2k

Here is my 3Dmark test: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-8700K Processor,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Z370 GAMING M5 (MS-7B58) (3dmark.com)

PSU might be light but that wouldn’t cause low fps, it would cause occasional crashes.  Low fps can be about heat throttling or it can be a software issue.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

According to the 3D Mark link, your memory is 2x4GB and 1x8GB, but your post says 2x8GB. What's the correct configuration?

Also, where is the screenshot(s) you referenced in the OP?

How old is your Windows installation? I'd consider reformatting and do a fresh install, I bet its a software problem.

Good catch. I didn’t look at the 3DMark.  he’s apparently using 3 sticks.  2x4gb and 1x8gb. I’m surprised it works at all.  Decent chance he running memory single channel because of that.

Yeah I already did that but nothing changed at all saddy.

Different Motherboard have different ways of dealing with memory.  Some would just hork and die upon looking at that mismatched memory.  It’s entirely possible that the mismatched memory is what is causing the slowdowns.
