I just finished building my pc. First, my reset and power buttons don't work. Second, my monitor has no signal.

i think its a connector problem, try changing or just unplug and plug the on and reset button from the mobo

Is the monitor plugged into the GPU? 

What is in this pc?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

If your power button doesn't work, how do you you know the monitor has so signal? Did you try turning the PC on by bridging the power switch pins? 

 

 

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Well my power button turns on my pc but when Ii hold it down it won't shut down.

The typical procedure is to put a compatible CPU in the board, load the new BIOS on a USB flash drive, plug the flash drive into a USB port on the board, and then use a utility in the BIOS to update it.

 

Some motherboards allow you to update without needing a CPU in the socket simply by inserting the flash drive with the new BIOS and pressing a button on the back of the board, but your board does not appear to be one of them, despite being a "high end" chipset that costs over $200, because Gigabyte likes to cut corners like that. Edit: I'm wrong, it actually does have the button but it's on the board itself rather than on the back I/O.

Not entirely true. It does support it.

i already edited my post. I'm used to seeing the button on the I/O panel at the back.
