Recently I bought an EVGA 650W semi-modular BQ 80 Plus Bronze Power supply unit from a retailer in UK. I have encountered a problem which I am not sure what is caused by. As I connect a peripheral cable to it some defense triggers and it shuts off the PSU, so I wonder if it is caused by a conflict in the circuits between any of the peripheral/sata slots on the PSU or the cable is faulty or the power supply itself is not working properly. Can you advise please, if I am not doing something right or I should request a return.

That sounds like over-volt protection is kicking in, what system are you trying to power with it? What are your components?
