multi socket water coolers

hi i was looking at closed loop water coolers and i noticed that the h100i is multi socket i was wondering what that means. because i was also looking at the glacier 240l from cooler master and that is expandable. is multi socket and expandable mean the same thing

no, multi-socket means it supports multiple sockets (ex. LGA1150 & FM2+ & AM3+)

 

expandable means you can add things to it (like a res, another CPU block, more radiators, a GPU block)

well idk yet my motherboard has the compatibility and i was considering a custom loop in the future

I'd go for the H100i now and then if you want to do a full loop, get radiators, tubes etc. separate rather than adding to an AIO.
