In my new system, I plan to have 4 fans total, but my motherboard only has 3 headers. I found this splitter, but I noticed that one pin is intentionally missing on one header; In the description, it says that this won't interfere with PWM fans, but what about 3-pin fans? Would it not work at all or have some kind of drawback?

The missing pin is for the tachometer of the 2nd fan. It is required to remove this pin so that the two signals don't interfere. It will not cause any issues for both fans to work normally.

The drawback is this:

If you monitor fan RPM's, only the first fan is reported. So if the 2nd stalls out, the system will not know it. (Fans have built in firmware to restart though.)

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora
