Budget (including currency):

I am hoping to spend about 1200 USD, but I am willing to go up to about 1400 for this build.

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Right now, I don't play many games that require much from my computer, but I am hoping to have a powerful enough computer to run games like battlefront or rainbow 6 siege.

Monitors:

Right now, I only have one monitor, but I may buy another one in the future.

Peripherals:

I plan on buying a new mouse and keyboard with my pc, a microphone, and I am not quite sure about network adapters, so any help with that would be very helpful! Right now, I am using an external boot drive to run windows 10 on my Macbook, but I don't know what to do if I want to move the OS from that drive to another computer.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I already have an existing list at https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZqKhz7. I am upgrading from a 2015 Macbook air using bootcamp to play most games, so a good graphics card and a fast ssd are priorities for me. I have about half of the money I need saved up right now, and I am hoping to be able to buy by the end of this summer. PCPartPicker has a flag saying that my motherboard may need a BIOS update, I don't understand much about BIOS, so help with understanding that and how to solve the issue would be appreciated. Including my boot drive for bootcamp, I already have about 1.5 TB of hard drive storage, so that is not on my list.

The only thing i would of changed was the Motherboard and your power supply but everything else seemed perfect for a first build

Case is still garbage. SSD is still slow, and the Motherboard and CPU combo is still a waste of money.

here are a few small edits I did to the build. The case is not really good for airflow, so if that is any sort of priority I would change it to a p360a.

Since you won't be able to use the system without getting a graphics card anyway, I would reccomend upgrading to the newly announced 5600g at 260 which has integrated graphics and can be used without a graphics card. The 5600g comes to market on August 5.

and implement the edits Downkey suggested.

Note that the RAM you selected is CL22, that is really slow. That will run slower than some 2666 kits. I’d swap it for a CL16 kit.

Also the MSI A650GF is not much more expensive and is a much better overall PSU, I’d just get that.

Rest looks fine, except for the case but you already pointed that out
