Hi everyone,

I own an Alienware 13 R3 laptop . The specs are the following:

OLED 1440p, i7-7700HQ, GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB RAM.

I bought it as new in 2017. Recently started checking the temps of the laptop, before I was not really into it. Playing COD Warzone in Normal settings I get around 70fps (Connected to a 1080p 240Hz Alienware monitor), depending the environment. The GPU temperature is usually stopping around 91°C and the CPU is around 96°C sometimes throttles. I repasted the system with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and I got the same temps so I thought maybe I didn't apply the right amount so I repasted again same day. Unfortunately I got the same result, so I guess it's not the paste or me doing something wrong?! I checked some videos and forums about undervolting and how much it can help for some people so I thought I'll give it a try however in Intel Extreme Utility and ThrottleStop all the configuration sliders are turned off by default and won't let me change anything. I also read somewhere that these models 13 R3, 15 R3 and 17 R4 with Kaby Lake CPUs have faulty heatpipes and they don't make good contact with the CPU and GPU dies. Could anyone help me lower my temperatures somehow please? Thank you for your time.

Thank you for getting back to me. I would be happy for around 80°C temps to be honest. You are right could be the size of the chassis. Did you mean I can't undervolt the system because it was disabled in the BIOS? Alienware has really bad BIOS by the way, can't really change anything on the laptop. Not even an app where you could tune your fans or anything to be honest. If I lower the settings even more it will be super pixellated 😄 it already is on normal 😕
