The time has come for me to upgrade my GPU. I am currently running dual GTX 460s. I have an asus p8z77-v premium, and dual GPUs don't play nicely with the PLX chip on it, so I'm looking for a single GPU solution. My price range is right around $400 and that puts me at the 7970/670 bracket. My obvious question is which one should I get? My main reason for considering the 670 is some of my favorite games are physx heavy (arkham city, borderlands 2, etc) will I miss physx enough to want to get the 670, or is the 7970 + never settle games the way to go?

id go 7970, you still have software physx so you will be grand on that side and the never settle games is difinitly a good plus

The way I found out how to fix the PLX chip problem was to SLI them on the top 2 x16 PCI-e slots and not the 1st and 3rd one. The top 2 slots are directly provided by the CPU while the 3rd and 4th ones are from the PLX chip.

Well, at least it worked for me.

I would get the 7970 because it has better performance than the 670. The HIS 7970 IceQ X² GHz Edition is a voltaged unlocked card and I would recommend this card.
