So today my PC started making weird high pitched noises, especially when gaming. I hope you can hear it through the fans. I think it's the GPU but don't know how I can tell. So, how can I find out what makes this noise and should I be worried?

i5-10400F

Sapphire Pulse RX 5500 XT

HyperX Fury RGB 2x8 3200 CL16

ASRock B460M Pro4

Crucial MX500 500gb

Western Digital Scorpio Blue 750gb (unplugged it, issue still happens)

Be Quiet System Power 9 600w (I know, not the best but the same issue happens with a different PSU)

Antec DP301M

Intel stock cooler

Antec stock fan for exhaust

Be Quiet! Pure Wings 2 PWM for intake

Everything still has warranty if needed

I mean, can't see the best but try to check are any wires touching the fans?

Try unpluging the fans for a short period just to see if the sound still comes.

That CPU cooler wire from the position of view seems like touching the fan.

Look howni managed to put it around.

Tried unplugging the case fans, didn't make any difference. When I unplug the CPU fan it won't let me boot to the system so I can't try that. The 10400F has no iGPU so I can't just unplug the GPU. Anything else I can try?

Can you maybe check the condition of your gpu fan, try to look for anything that may be getting in the way. Its maybe just a fan i don't expect the sound from anything else.

Intel stock cooler does make higher nosises but thats normal.

Its sounds like fan is touching a wire.

Does that sound came frist time you used youd gpu?

I think some motherboards allow you to get display output even without a GPU or iGPU. It's emulated in the CPU. And it outputs on a graphics port, if the motherboard has one.

If you can do that with your motherboard, you could shut the PC down, remove the GPU and reboot in the BIOS.

Then your BIOS should have some fan control section where you could turn off the fans one by one.

You can also turn off the CPU fan, but only for a short while, because temperatures will start rising and the fan will be automatically restarted.

As far as I know, you can't control GPU fans through the BIOS, but GPU manufacturers ship their unit with some application that allows you to manually undervolt the GPU and so lower the fan speed.

I don't think mine supports that. Tried with both HDMI and DisplayPort, but no signal. Will try turning off the CPU fan. I can change the GPU fans in AMD's control panel, but it seems bugged and will get stuck on 100% when I enable it. No weird noise when it's at 100%.

Just set the CPU fan to 10% (it won't go lower), but still only seems to happen under load.

No wires seem to be touching any fan. Rewired the CPU fan so it's not close to the fan, but it didn't help.

I have the same problem, but it only happens sometimes and when the system is mostly idle.

I stopped all the fans, one by one, in the Bios, removed the graphics card (I have iGPU), but still the same noise.

I think it's just coil whine from the mobo. Mine is a Gigabyte B560m aorus elite.

Could also be the PSU in your case but pretty sure it's the GPU for me since it only happens under load. It also seems to make the same sound to my headphones when connecting it to the front io, but not for the rear. Do you know if Sapphire fixes this under warranty?
