Yeah it is often best to just look for an entire system. There are a lot of full used systems with better specs than just the dell + 1050ti combo just gotta look for them.

Budget: $300 AUD

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS:GO, Minecraft, Roblox, GTA V, Fallout 4, Fallout New Vegas, Some Programming, Basic 3D design and some others

PC I am going to buy:

Type: Dell Optiplex 9020

Ram: 8gb

OP: Windows 10 Pro

Storage: 256GB SSD

Proccessor: Intel Core i5- 4570 4th Gen

Processor Speed: 3.20 GHz

GPU: AMD Radeon R5 240

Things I will upgrade with some extra money:

GPU will be: GTX 1050 ti

Ram will be: 16gb

SSD will be: 500gb - 1TB

This is what I found from reading some comments and would like to know if this is all compatible with each other. And will be able to handle basic games like Minecraft and Roblox as those are the main games I play. Also an recommendations for a Free VPN / Anti-virus that I can add to my system to keep it safe I’m looking at the free Avast. Thanks for any suggestions.

Id keep the SSD for the boot drive and just get a 1-2TB HDD. I always recommend anyone to buy their storage new, you never knew with used storage mediums, a lot of seller wont care or even want to give a SMART readout to see the condition of the drive, and if it dies you definitely wont be able to RMA it. You can get another 1*8 stick used easily on ebay, but the 1050Ti is gonna be the most complicated part as i myself struggle to find one not at 280-300 USD. A hackier route would be to get yourself a Quadro P2000 or K4000 before people scalp those too, those should be at 180-200$ on ebay.

Dont get it. It's a 4core i5 and those have run their course. They are not a cpu you want to get if you plan to buy any new games as they simply just offer a pretty crap experience in those due to pretty severe stuttering. The games you listed are about as far as you can push it before it really becomes an issue. Gta V will have some lockups and stutters here and there due to being perpetually updated but will work mostly fine.

For the budget however this computer kinda sucks. Also they are putting 2 gpu's in there fro some reason.

Also for around 600-700 you can get gtx 970 + i7 or even newer ryzen/intel cpu's that have more than 4threads. Those will be better and actually be useable for gaming in the future whilst also just being cheaper overall in terms of money spent as your upgrade with how prices are right now will easily go over 500.

Edit for clarification: Upgrading this system would mean that you are easily spending another 500 aud on it for what will be a far worse system.

Ok well thanks can I have any recommendations the only games it would really be used for is Minecraft, Roblox and like CS:GO at minimum settings. Can 4 cores run Minecraft and Roblox plus CS:GO at settings from low to medium? Or can you just tell me what parts are best. Thanks if you can. My real budget is around $500 AUD as the maximum and the minimum I have now is $300 AUD. I’m just a kid who makes stuff off 10cent cans

Oh ok this really helps. Issue here is the gpu cannot run any of those games really as it is a very basic display adapter. Struggled with these games in 2015 so nowadays you can mostly forget about it.

Ok well as you can see I’m not made of money and no one is. The GTX 1050 ti seems to be a good cheap gpu that can seem to run Minecraft at an average of 159fps and roblox at its 60fps cap, and a few other games at medium settings at 40-60 FPS which in my book is better than the iMac that can’t run literally anything because it space is all taken for photos. I’d like to know if the i5 and GTX 1050 it is a good pair mainly just used for games that don’t require a intense workload.

if there’s any other gpu that is in the range of $300-$360 AUD can you tell me. Also btw from 2 hours which does make a tech genius and I don’t believe anything. I looked for the latest video on the GTX 1050 ti which was about a few months ago and some other all reviewing the GTX 1050 ti and it seems to be good enough for me. Like as I said and sorry for this being so long any other gpus below or in the range of $300-$360 AUD? Anyway thanks for what you gave me before.

Also the GTX 1050 ti gets restocked every little while and is on the shelf for about 1-2 days for going out of stock. I’ll be getting mine from umart and here’s a link to it.

300 AUD for something thats historically 250-260 at worst? No, might as well try to find an unscalped 1650 Super.

No need to get a worse system if you can buy everything you need in one go on ebay

It's better than the dell option AND can be upgraded for a decent price later if you decide to play new games.
