GPU isn't recognized

I recently bought a second-hand GPU which was listed as 'Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5'.  AMD Radeon software and GPU-Z both show me that it is a R7 200 series GPU. When I press 'lookup' in GPU-Z it takes me to HD 7750 page so why isn't it being recognized as HD 7750 in AMD Radeon software?
