Hello people of the forum I have a question and hoping for some tech tips, I have owned almost for a year a rtx 2070 super and recently I tried to plug in a hdmi cable to the back of the card, when it touched the metal of the back plate it then started to let out sparks and now the card wont turn on, no lights and no fan spin, I sent in my card to nvidia but I’m wondering if it was only a gpu thing or maybe motherboard or power supply the rest of the system turns on but without a gpu I can’t test if I have a signal as I have a ryzen 5 5600x, I also tested both lanes of the mother board no dice.

Well, seems like something shorted something. Your text is poorly made, so it is hard to figure out what is going on.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.
