Laptop to desktop pc

So i am from India . I have a 12 year old laptop apparantly which worked perfectly fine till last year february. As you all know our good ol' friend windows 7 is dead or, kind of put  in a hole and then thrown the hole away. the laptop has windows 7 but its hinge broke its like a criple. I still have its cd/dvd player. the software was also working smoothly and was absolutely snappy but then its battery went haywire due to electricity issue now it has become like a desktop computer remove the charger and the laptop dies. i am thinking of converting it into a proper desktop computer. I will remove the internals and put it in a pc cabinet . thinking of installing an ssd and install windows 10 on the ssd that will boost the computer speed. it is a pirated windows copy since the computer literally lost all of its data in 2019 and the system wont boot so i reinstalled pirated windows. i am thinking of using kmspico(windows activator to fix that problem). I am thinking of keeping the budget under 138 $( 10K inr) . The main part i just want to take care of  is removing the internals and installing it in a pc cabinet with other accessories i already have monitor and keyboard/mouse.. i could have tken the risk and just went for removing the mother board. but i just want expert advice.
