I just got done building my very first PC, I plugged everything in and all the fans and LEDs started just fine, I hooked it up to my computer and no signal, the debug LEDs on my motherboard seem like they are random, I tried using my HDMI port on the motherboard and still no signal, I even took out my GPU and the VGA LED is still on, anyone know what's going on?

I reseated my GPU and then powered on, the CPU debug LED stayed on for about 5 seconds then switched back to VGA

My specs are

CPU: Ryzen 3100

GPU: Windforce 970 4gb

MOBO: MSI B550M PRO-VDH Wifi

RAM: G.Skill Trident 3000mhz RGB

PSU: RaidMax 630w RX-630SS

I connected it and it the problem persisted, but when I booted with 1 stick of ram I got it to post into BIOS, now what?

Did you install it in dual channel configuration?

Yes I did, after I got it to boot to bios I tried to put the other stick back in then boot again and I got the same problem and no BIOS, I made sure they were also in the correct slots for my MOBO

Try different RAM slots, maybe the slot is bad.

I tried all the different slots and only the 1st dual channel slot goes to BIOS, the rest the LED changes from CPU to DRAM, and for the 1st Dual Channel slot the LED switches from CPU and down to BOOT when it posts into BIOS

Did you try interchanging the ram so you can test that both of the ram sticks are fine?

So far you know that 1st slot is working so try both sticks in that one. If you find that it boots with both Ram sticks maybe you have dead slots on the board if not then maybe one of the ram sticks is bad.

If I don't have all the stand offs screwed into the motherboard will this cause booting issues? I came across a post that said this could cause a problem with booting, I tried the other stick and the same thing happens

Reseat the CPU,could be bad mounting.

Remember to wiggle the cooler, you don't want to pull the cooler with the CPU attached to it.

You can take the MOBO out of the case and try it there, its the easiest for troubleshooting

Ok ill take it out and reseat my CPU, a weird thing with this cpu is that it didn't lock in when I put the arm down, it just stayed the same and I could pull it right out with 0 effort, could that be the issue?

That can cause the problem you have.

With saying this i also think this is the cause of the issue due to traces connected to RAM is separated.

I took out the CPU and I have 2 very slightly bent pins on the outside, and it still fits on the socket, should I try bending these back straight?

Right on the edge of my CPU I mean, sorry

Chances are bigger that you will break it completely than fixing it. You should send it back since a new CPU shouldn't come with bent pins.

I have no experience with bent pins,i am only good at diagnosing problems 😞

At least now we know what is causing your RAM issues.

If you are not sure with yourself maybe RMA it, bending it back is tricky and get you even in more trouble because you can brake the bent ones, even braking more of the adjacent ones.

Would it work with slightly bent pins like that?

I don`t think so, the alignment is crucial there and the tolerances are tight, so the bent pins can cause for some other pins not to touch or miss align.

If you can`t RMA it look up straitening bent pins in the CPU videos there are a bunch, but again please PLEASE keep in mind that those pins are thin and bending it back can snap the pin or you can slip and damage the adjacent ones.

I know it sucks, but it seems like the right thing to do is RMA the CPU.
