PC will not boot after installing nvme

Hello!

 

My system:

plexhd x79 turbo 1.03 (https://xeon-e5450.ru/socket-2011/motherboards/plexhd-x79-turbo/)
xeon e5 2689
16 gb ram
rx 590
ssd Kingston a400 240 gb
nzxt c650

Windows 10 pro

 

My problem: when I install a brand new crucial p5 nvme the pc will not boot up. I have tried putting the nvme into its dedicated slot and also into a pcie adapter, no luck. The BIOS recognizes the P5. If I boot a live usb with a linux distro in it I have no problems, I can see the p5, I can format it, I can copy files in it, I can perform a benchmark. I am pretty sure the p5 is working fine as this is the second unit I´ve had. The first one I sent back as me and crucial support thought it was faulty.

 

Things that I´ve tried: 

- As mentioned I tried to connect the nvme to its dedicated slot and to a pcie adapter.

- I made sure the booting order was correct in the bios.

- I updated my bios to the latest.

- I tried changing the pcie slot of the graphics card

- I made a bootable windows usb to make a fresh install of windows in the nvme, disconnecting my old ssd, no luck

- I followed the instructions in the first post of this thread https://www.win-raid.com/t871f50-HowTo-Get-full-NVMe-support-for-all-Systems-with-an-AMI-UEFI-BIOS.html

- Contaced crucial support and used their scanner tool, they confirmed my system is compatible with their p5

I have managed to boot windows by changing a setting in the bios. I dont remember the exact words but it was in the boot menu. Where it said "bios and uefi" i changed it to "uefi". Now i can see the drive when windows boots up.

 

However i tried to install a fresh windows version, just the usb and the nvme were connected, and it does not boot up. I disconnected the nvme and tried to boot up just with the usb and it did.
