blender crashes on startup

Hi! my blender has been acting up recently, this started to happen when i downloaded mesa-utils. Is there any way to downgrade my graphics driver to the one that came with ubuntu?

I have tried deleting mesa-utils but it is still crashing, i tried to purge but still crashing. Any help will be appreciated

Not sure about Ubuntu, but on a Windows install of blender in the programs folder are several .cmds (should be equivalent in Ubuntu?), these allow you to start blender in various forms, such as with diagnostic logging, factory default etc.

If the factory default start up works you can then save that as your default for "user prefs". Alternatively find your "user prefs" file and edit out any problem settings.

kinda close to ubuntu but we dont use .cmd, we do it in terminal but it is kinda close but it doesnt work. Thanks anyway
