Computer Science vs. Computer Engineering

Theoreotically

Hey there,

I am 18 years old and will be applying for my undergrad this year and I love all things computers and even electronics and really like Mathematics too (kinda find coding a little boring though). I am not sure between applying for computer science and computer engineering as a lot of the sources I found were vague or provided conflicting information. Could someone clarify the difference between the two especially in terms of what computer engineers do versus computer scientists?

Computer science is all software (coding, etc.)

computer engineering is hardware. (semiconducter manufacturing etc)

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

As above. Computer science generally refers to coding and software, whilst computer engineering refers to the physical hardware, such as chip design. That being said, ull find that even in computer engineering ull be dealing with code and software at some point.

it also depends from school to school

I would see what's the route of each school

even though schools do tend to be more vague as possible...
