So today my laptop died (RIP) and as most off my files were stored on it I decided on taking out the SSD from the laptop and throwing it inside my rig. I connected everything up and..... Black screen. It wont boot up. I know my rig works, as im curently writing this post on it using a hdd with a fresh windows. The SSD works too, as it shows up in File Explorer. I have tried using different SATA cables, different plugs on the mobo and still nothing. The BIOS settings didnt help either... Is there any way to get the rig to boot from the SSD?

Current specs:

Motherboard: H-Alvorix RS-880-uATX

CPU: AMD Phenom ii 945

GPU: Radeon ATI 4200 (Integrated) (Waiting for MSI GTX 960 to arrive)

RAM: DDR3 12gb (Dont remember exact model/make, but hey, they work so thats enough for me)

PSU: some OEM 175w shit (Waiting for a 650w psu)

SSD: Crucial MX500 2,5 SSD 1TB SATA

HDD: I dont remember, but its slow af

EDIT: Boot priority doesnt do anything, neither setting SATA controller to ahci or ide

Does your pc support UEFI?

Most likely your laptop is installed with UEFI and your pc, since it is old only supports legacy.

You can try to clean install it if you don't need the data anymore.

They both were running on BIOS, and yes, I need the data... Is it possible to yeet all the program files and appdata onto a fresh windows 10 and get all the apps running?
