GN, GP, GL etc. is just telling you from which generation the monitor is.

GL = 2019 models

GN = 2020 models

GP = 2021 models

The 34GP83A is basically the newer model of the 34GN850. Idk why they changed the 850 in the name to 83A in the new generation. Most differences are subtle because it's basically the same hardware with a few software tweaks (mostly just the new OSD).

Does any one know the difference between the lg 34gn850-b and the lg 34gp83a-b

I couldn’t find anything in regards to what are the differences

You can check RTINGS and see for yourself

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/34gn850-b

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/34gp83a-b

They're basically identical with slight differences, potentially a revised design, SDR and HDR brightness is a tad higher, and negligeable difference in other areas. I'd suggest going for the 34gp83a-b since it looks like it's the newer slightly revised design.

Yeah I’ve looked at a bunch of different websites some are saying the displays are different some are saying the displays are the same . I guess I just wanted to know if any one had them

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Sometimes they improve power consumption and minor things like that, then decide to change the name.
