Hello,

I have had my pc37x headset for while. However recently I was having issues with intermitent audio distortion where vocals would pretty much become inaudible and anything else I could hear would sound like it was underwater. However as it was only an intermittent issue I gave it no concern. But tonight the audio distortion happened again and isn't going away. I have tried 3 different cable and 3 different devices and the issue still remains. So I guess my question is if anyone knows what the problem is so that I can try to fix it if possible.

To anyone who may of been watching my thread at all I found a solution to my problem. However it is not a super elegant solution. So today I was playing around with the headset and I found that when I have the volume turned down to 10-20% volume on the headsets potentiometer the audio started to sound normal which lead me to believe that it was an issue with the potentiometer. To test this I simply bypassed the potentiometer by simply soldering the wires directly to each other correspondingly. Red to red, ground to ground and greenw to ground. I connected blue to ground because in the circuit in the headset the potentiometer acts as a passthrough for the ground wire which leads to the left channel. So even though this solved my problem, it is not super elegant simply because I no longer have volume control directly on the headset anymore. another thing to not is in order to remove the potentiometer you have to pry the cover on it off because it is glued onto the potentiometers main knob head. if anyone has any questions to the process I had to go through simply ask and I will do my best to reply.

I know that I already solved this issue, however I wanted to add a bit more documentation for this issue incase anyone else has a similar issue. Here is an image of the wire when soldered together according to what I previously explained. For anyone else doing this repair I would highly recommend covering the tips of the soldered wire in shrink wrap or electrical tape to prevent them form being able to short out at all in the future. Something else I discovered while working on this repair is that you can maintain the functionaly of the volume controls on the headset by creating a short between the left and right audio channels. however I would not reccomend taking this approach as this essentialy make the audio produced by the headset mono instead of stereo.
