Possible dead motherboard

Yesterday afternoon I cleaned my pc for the first time in a while I re applied a clean thermal paste layer just to ensure running in optimal efficiency

My problem is late last night my pc just shut off for no reason I can find

(cpu psu and ram) all work so I think it might be a motherboard issue

I try restarting but I'm getting no video output but the computer case tell me my cpu is 17 degrees so I presume it's working?

Cpu is undamaged and I've checked cpus bed where it's placed obviously everything is how it should be no damaged pins cpu is the correct way round etc

I used thermal paste wipes to clean both cpu and the heat sink contact points and applied a new layer

I know cpu is working atleast

I'm running an

Intel i5 3570k

MSI G77A Cross fire board

8gb ram

AMD radeon r9 290x

Power supply works

All connections are where they should be

That's not a PSU model... can you provide your PSU model (so not 750W 80+ Gold, something like Seasonic GM-750) please?

hang on, you say the cpu, psu and ram all work. as i understand it you have a backup system you can test those parts in? if possible can you also test the gpu to make sure that that works?
