Probably not worth it. Unless you really need those other 2 cores (probably not if you're using NVENC) or if you are noticing a CPU bottleneck where the GPU doesn't go above 80% usage (probably not with a 3060), just stick with the 3600 and save for the next upgrade

appreciate the response, helped out so much.. ill just stick with what I got if its not going to at least give me a 40-50% performance boost

so you recommend streaming from NVENC instead (use obs normally) and sticking with what i got? I would love at least a 40% performance boost but if thats not possible, not worth wasting my money.. btw appreciate the response, so helpful! thank you

NVENC is just an encoder than OBS can use. It basically just redirects the encoding to the GPU with a very low encoder overhead. If you swapped over to a 3700x and did CPU encoding, you might see a 2-3% increase, but that's at best and I would not spend somewhere around $100 on an upgrade for 2-3% increases in performance only while streaming.
