IS THIS NORMAL

Hello

I have a HP laptop. (Probook 450 G7)

I recently bought like 2 months ago

I noticed that the laptop was getting very hot when playing games.

The temps are.when idle.

And about 80 degrees celsius to 90 degrees celsius when gaming.

Note i use Coretemp for checking temps and the games i play are rocket league.

Use HWinfo64 instead of coretemp. And yes it might be normal. It wasn't meant for gaming. I would imagine it shares the cooler with the dedicated graphics card (MX250), unless you run onboard?

Not to try and correct you - HWiNFO is amazing - but Core Temp have always shown me the exact same temps as HWiNFO. Core Temps is a must have background program IMO, mainly because of the lower CPU usage and the simple overheat protection feature. 

So IMO, using Core Temp to check CPU temps, is just fine

But looks like this cpu generally runs pretty hot. I use the 10310U atm in my Lenovo T14 for work. Got Chrome ~10 tabs, Outlook and some java program open and this is my temps. I use iGPU. Just after opening the program:

Yes, 80c is on the hotter side but honestly, if the cooling is poor in the laptop, 80/90c doesn't surprise me.

I mean.. It's a laptop, what do you expect? 80-90c is perfectly within spec of that chip and isn't an issue(except maybe if it's in your lap, burning your crotch). If you want to try and cool it more, go full ham and bust out some liquid metal or get one of those laptop coolers or something.

Its fine, it's silent on light load.. Will be about the same on full load i think. Ok actually lower.. Because of turbo.. Max turbo 4,3ghz spotted. 95C lol

Normal for your laptop. You cna try to 

 

undervolt

 

replace thermalpaste and clean your laptop.

 

but i doupt it will do much
